Default whats a good LA area GA airport to visit?

Does [EMT] still have that rubber coated runway?

I don't know about rubber coated, but last I looked (Sept 07) it had the
same all-hard-surface-no-grass-between-the-taxiways runway as when I
trained on it. In fact, when I started doing cross countries, actual
taxiways seemed odd and quaint.
