Would you believe that the French Air Force put a C130 in there right after Hurricane Luis? Of course the Royal Air Force put 3 C130's into Wallblake (AXA) that same day. Cheers, Dave |

Cheers, Dave Hey If the navy can land a loaded C-130 onto the deck of a carrier and take off again, the airport at St Bart, would be a piece of cake. I remember being on board a C-130 making a short field assault landing on the dirt strip (DZ) at Ft Bragg and then driving my truck with trailer off the heck, as soon as the wheels of the trailer hit the dirt, the herc was rolling to take off to clear the spot for another one to come in. the C-130 is a hell of an airplane......short field or whatever... |
