Hi everyone :-) GR8 to have service 'back'!

PS. does "GR8 to have service back" mean you only post through
gliderpilot.net, or was your local computer service interrupted?

Hi Paul and everyone else who has taken time to provide interesting
feedback (notice 20+ replies but only on # 5 at the moment smile), MUCH
appreciated! Re r.a.s, my "ignorance" is such that only viewed / posted
via Gliderpilot.net :-( Guess not able to be good at everything proves I
am human! Back to reading the replies, maybe I should build a spreadsheet
and do an analysis? Nope, would rather spend some time with gliding
(sorry SOARING) stuff :-) All the best and as always, FLY SAFE! VBR

One way: About 1hr 15 minutes, if I don't stop for coffee and a
biscuit.
But, if flying that day and not fettling, I'll stop and fill up the
gas tank just before arriving at the airport so the "retrieval" car
has a full tank of gas. That might add another 5 minutes or so (never
timed it.)
Distance: 57 miles (91 km) each way.

OK my 2-cents,
50 minutes each way, add 10min. and a bunch of $ for gas. 1/2 on 75mph
Freeway and the other half on fine Colorado asphalt rural roads with
14k Pikes Peak in the window. A very reasonable commute to access the
fine high altitude soaring in the Colorado Rockies to the West or the
Flat plains to the East of my club, Black Forest Soaring Society.

One mile round trip. I know I don't deserve it, but someone has to
suffer with all that extra free time.

Question for any / all interested: What is your travel time / distance
(round trip?) from home to gliding / soaring club - site? Not that will
make any difference to actual journey I need to take but knowing what
fellow enthusiast 'endure' to enjoy our fantastic sport / hobby will
probably make me feel 'much better' (s a factor in choosing which club
to join here in South Africa)! From my home (Benoni) must allow 4 hrs
(approx 350 Km) average for any of the 'local' clubs...
Thanks in advance. FLY SAFE! very best regards Nigel R

45 miles, 50 minutes each way from home to Cambridge Soaring Centre.
