Anybody see the new issue? (with the Baron on the cover) Jay's been
recognized for his effort with ASN.
Saw it, but nobody's home here anymore. Where is everybody? These
groups feel like being at the beach in February.
Now, few have remained, after MXsmanic and some trolls had open season
on ****ing matches. They went to some other piloting web based group,
but I can't remember what its name is.

Seems like some can't ignore trolls, like they did back in the day of the
bass wars.

Very sad, that one addicted, unbalanced kid could cause so many good
people to leave.

I saw it and very good for Jay. I am the ASN for my local airport. We have
had some issues, but not like Jay has had. Everybody had gone to Pilots of
America. I looked at it, but the format is just too much harder than these
newsgroups. It is too bad. They probably have established themselves there
and will not come back. I check here from time to time just to see if
there is anything going on.

I looked at POA as well and came to the same conclusion. It's unfortunate
in a way that so many find it necessary to argue with the troll, and in
another way it's a potentially fascinating case study for anyone interested
in psychology. However it has also made it easy for me to reduce the time
that I was spending on usenet--and the time that I saved is now fully
committed elsewhere.

Peter

I could not agree more. The more I requested that everyone ignore MX and
MX's responders, it would not happen. They fed on each other. I learned
a lot here and enjoyed it muchly. Now the newsgroup is gone and I had to
sell my plane. Not in a happy place....

Does nobody know how to use a kill file anymore?

Sure we do. It's just a lot more fun to be where the children aren't
allowed.

As already pointed out, he's just one of the ingredient in that soup.

I see 3 addicted, unbalanced kids (well, babies really) here (besides
me, of course).

An alleged airline pilot addicted to his illusion of controlling
everyone else,

A MSFS addict,

And the other addicted to only responding to the alleged addicted
airline pilot.

All 3 highly unbalanced (seriously, they reek of needing professional
help), and highly worth ignoring, lest they go away.

There is the possibility, Darrell, that (to use one of the pair's
favorite phrase) at least one is a sock puppet of the other. The
styles differ but the intellectual content is identical, and they
often appear as a pair, joined at the keyboard, or hips, or elsewhere.
Probably elsewhere.

It's my contention that nobody causes anyone to leave.
The decision for me to leave a particular usenet group (or anything
for that matter) is made only by me and I am not made to leave by
anybody. Others don't have that kind of control over me, nor do I have
control over others.
I refuse to give anybody the kind of control over me that they would
cause me to leave or do anything. I take full responsibility over my
decisions.

Ricky (who hasn't ever left a usenet group or plonked anyone in 15
years on usenet).
