Get a different browser like "Opera" which will let you turn off the
animations. But giving up on QuickTime and Flash limits your enjoyment of some useful and entertaining websites. "Morgans" wrote in message ... "chris priest" wrote Also, you need flash installed I will install flash, when they pry my cold, dead hands off my mouse. gI feel almost as strongly about QuickTime. With flash, every website, it seems, has cute little things blobbing along the screen. QuickTime just wants to dominate everything, and I want no part of either of them. Since I reinstalled Windows 2000 pro, my old 'puter has not hiccupped, even one time. Before, disaster. Only difference in programs, were these two, and IM. I know, many will say that does not have anything to do with it, but all the same, I will have to miss anything that requires flash and QuickTime. -- Jim in NC |

I will install flash, when they pry my cold, dead hands off my mouse.
You can disable flash by renaming the swflash.ocx file (to, say, swflash.ocx.dead). Put a text file with the same name next to it saying what you did. Rename it back to see flash again. You will need to do this for ALL copies of the file, and then say "no" to the "would you like to install" questions that will come up. Newer versions may use flash.ocx or flasha.ocx. Also, google "disable flash" and you'll see other methods of forcing it to your will. But i wish it just had an off switch. Jose -- (for Email, make the obvious changes in my address) |

Just my 2¢ worth I noticed that they were mostly (all?) from L.A. stations and I'm living in Atlanta now, so I couldn't say whether they do or not. But that thought did cross my mind also. -- Jeff 'The Wizard of Draws' Bucchino Cartoons with a Touch of Magic www.wizardofdraws.com www.cartoonclipart.com |

Hey Jeff ! How are things up that way? Been flying out at 47A still?
I'm down in Statesboro now... I flew up to visit Randall a few weeks back. You get your IA rating? A lot of work, but I feel a lot safer and it sure will minimize the number of times I get weathered out. Took a short hop last weekend down to La Grange on my first IFR trip. What a blast. In and out of the clouds up and back for .4 actual. You got my number, give me a call and we'll fly when you're up here next time. -- Jeff 'The Wizard of Draws' Bucchino Cartoons with a Touch of Magic http://www.wizardofdraws.com http://www.cartoonclipart.com |
