Thomas Crown Affair (both pilatus B4 with Steeve mac Queen and duo Discus
with Pierce Brosnan) a écrit dans le message de news: ... Has anyone compiled a list of movies in which gliders appear? I tried googling, and it turned up some of the obvious names, such as _The Thomas Crown Affair_ and _The Boy Who Flew With Condors_, but nothing like a comprehensive listing. I recorded the Brosnan version off the air and ran through it at high speed
(DVR's are wonderful!) looking in vain for the glider scene. Maybe the channel cut it out... where in the movie does the scene appear? "Herve Hurlin" wrote in message ... Well, if we're going to include made-for-TV movies, we must not forget
Skyward, 1980, directed by Ron Howard. A parapalegic girl follows a pair of Jantars to the local airport, takes flying lessons, even goes for a ride with Derek Piggot in a 2-32. MaD wrote: The Sky Trap A young glider pilot gets in trouble after disturbing some drug dealers after an outlanding near the US/Mexican border. I haven't seen the whole thing but there are only few moments in it without a glider. Mostly Blanik. Interestingly http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348049/ says it's a British production, http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movie...ml?v_id=129031 says it's US. Regards Marcel Duenner |

In the U.S., the latest Ameriprise commercial has a very brief clip of a
glider: a cockpit view and then an outside view. Maybe two seconds total. wrote in message oups.com... Has anyone compiled a list of movies in which gliders appear? ![]() Found another movie...sounds great...."The Sky Trap" directed by Ron Howard in 1980. Plot is of a glider pilot that lands out on a runway close to the border and accidently disturbs drug smugglers.....sounds like a normal day in Arizona or Texas! I haven't seen it, but you can bet I will try to find this film. Besides which, Ron Howard is a pretty good director! Micki |

Oops, almost forgot the "Tears for Fears" Video -- "Everyone wants to
rule the world"...almost all of the beginning are glider flight scenes. According to a quote by the Director, he considers the 2-33 scene's to be "Flights of Fantasy". micki |

Micki I think you are confusing these two movies: "Skyward"(1980)(by Ron Howard) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081526/ and "The Sky Trap"(1978)(by Jerome Courtland) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348049/ "Skyward" is about a parapelegic girl who learns to fly. "The Sky Trap" is about two kids who run afoul of drug dealers. Good luck getting your hands on them. I don't think either one has ever been released on DVD or VHS. Where would one even begin looking? Johan Larson |
