I have an update to my avionics install at Causey. It's now been 8
weeks-and still not done. The mechanics at Causey are amazing-pushing
planes in and out everyday with great speed. Avionics on the other
hand, I've never seen molasses move so slowly. When I was told the
plane would be ready today at 1pm, I get a call at 11am saying-well,
there are some problems, maybe this coming friday. This is what I've
heard every week for the past 4 weeks. I'm starting to think I should
put my plane in a museum becuase I'll never be able to fly it again. In
other news, I found a hangar at Johnston County for $275.

Thanks for the update on Causey. Hope you're flying again soon.

I can't hear "hangar at Johnston County" without being reminded of certain
notable hangar tenants...

;-)

It's quite
nice-motorized door, no flooding problems like 5W5. Plus, the airport
has an ILS, a mile long runway, quite a nice place. Hope everyone else
is having fun flying their planes.

JNX is great. Did my first solo there 18 years ago. I still visit often.

Sparkchasers at JNX does very good (I won't say cheap) avionics work.

A hearty amen to that (the quality and the expense).

Its crazy to hear others are also having the problem I am having with
the avionics. Fortunately, this week looks to be THE week, so I'll get
to pick it up on Sunday. Should be an interesting first flight in 8
weeks. Johnston County should be a great home for my bird, far enough
so I won't go flying everyday-and run up the fuel bill, but close
enough so I don't have to consider just driving to my destination. The
hangar rental isn't too bad either, considering it's distance from a
major airport.

Now the proud owner of N7416X, as seen on the FAA registration
database.
