AHEM indeed ...

Well, as long as we're critiquing, there's only *one* Maule M-7 on the
site. It belongs to M. Powell. Mine was an MX-7. Different plane.

Wow -- it really IS true: No good deed goes unpunished...

Next month I'm forwarding the file to you, George, and you can count all the
danged planes!

Jack, I couldn't stand by and let you be the only Arrow owner on the
site, so just sent my info to Jay yesterday.

Jay, I hope you know I was just giving you a hard time. I wasn't too
dissed to be left out of the count, really.

I can count to more than a thousand on my fingers.

*NEAT* trick. Most people run out of _fingers_ at a binary count of 256.

I presume that he's counting his thumb as a finger, as do most people.

"Q. If you call a tail a leg, how many legs does a dog have?
A. Four. Calling a tail a leg does *not* make it a leg!"

Applies equally to thumbs/fingers.

I can just see the delivery room scene:

Doctor: "Congratulations, your baby has eight fingers!"

Mother: "Oh my god! The ultrasound showed a perfectly normal fetus!"

Doctor: "...and two thumbs."

Mother: "(*&^#$^* Okay, Dr. Idiot...why don't you just come a little closer
here..."

It would if the thumb were not a finger.

Look it up in the dictionary. The thumb qualifies as a finger. It's a
special finger, to be sure, and is *sometimes* distinguished from the
fingers. But only a Usenet pedant would go around claiming that every
normal human being has only eight fingers.

Why is it that when I hold up my hands infront of me, I count ten
fingers? ...but when I stick them down my trousers, close my eyes, I
count eleven? ...and a couple of golfballs?

Hey, at least I was the first! :-) Glad my hogging all the Arrow glory
for a bit made you send Jay some pictures. Very nice looking Arrow. I
want your wingtips and prop! Great choice of a GPS BTW (that's a bit
puddle of water in the picture!).
