... I believe it was 500 dollars plus tax total. What impressed me was that I ordered it on Monday afternoon at about 3PM and it was delivered the next morning at 10AM. I hadn't specified next day shipping. They just sent it out that way. They seem to be a first rate outfit through and through. Really enjoyed dealing with them and the set is as you say, unbelievable sound for a unit that size. I've had full system stereos that were not nearly this well made and had this quality. Hi Dudley, Back in 1976, while I was assigned to Korea, I purchased a pair of the Bose 501-II speakers. They are still hooked up to my secondary music system, putting out terrific sounds just like they did back then. Never a hiccup with them. Bose does build stuff well!!!!! I do not care for them as a part of a home theater surround system (tried, got something else) but for just listening to music, they cannot be beat. Glad to know Bose continues with their great equipment line. Happy New Year, Paul |

My daugher flew home safely from Denver the night before Christmas. We drove from NY to CT to spend the last Christmas get together with my two sisters' families yesterday. The weather was a bit iffy for flying. One of sister is moving the West Coast after the New Year. Changes are inevitable parts of life. We lost our father two weeks ago. The wonderful memories of spending time with him last Christmas, last Thanksgiving and other visits throughout the years (made more frequently the last few years with the use of of our Cardinal) will be with me forever. In my stocking I got a stick of Old Spice High Endurance deodorant.
Do you think my wife might be trying to tell me something? I also got a Lord of the Rings 2007 calendar. Nothing aviation-related. I am deprived. --Walt Jay Honeck wrote: Ho! Ho! Ho! Oh, I forgot...
One of the presents I got my 17-year-old daughter is "West With The Night", by Beryl Markham. Great book. She's already halfway through it, but is snowboarding up at Bridger Bowl today with friends. --Walt Walt wrote: In my stocking I got a stick of Old Spice High Endurance deodorant. I still have a couple pairs of 301's from the early 80's. They still
work fine but I believe the foam around the woofers has seen better days. I have the Bose Aviation X headset and it is the best I have tried (better befor the price). I also wouldn't buy Bose for my home speakers. I have a preference of Paradigm speakers for that. The Paridigm Reference series speakers totally rock!! How 'bout you? Whad'ja find in *your* Christmas stocking? Santa brought me a Zuluworks Gazelle Flight bag. The two detachable end bags and adjustable interior dividers make this a nifty and flexible flight bag. Now I have the carrying capacity for lots more "stuff" that Santa can bring me next Christmas. One of these days the weather might cooperate and I can take the bag for a ride and see how it works on the right seat. Merry Christmas, one and all! |
