Yeah air head, that's on topic.

Of course it is. First usenet, then the world.

well, you ONLY use a web based usenet gateway (googlegroups), which is
bad (and the quote of censored using it is rising and makes it a more
and more viable solution to just filter any and all postings coming from
googlegroups).

here[tm] I don't see what you mentioned above.

Actually, it is law...in the Ninth Circuit. It is binding in the
federal courts in that Circuit, just the same as a statute. It is
called "common law."

I agree, Jay. BTB is the best argument for a moderated group. MX may
not be a pilot, but his queries are often good topic starters until
the usual flame throwers show up. Watch and see.

Certainly not.

And, BTW moderation does little to slow me down. I managed to bring an
issue before a national parliament about a year ago via a moderated
forum and some even more reprehensible techniques than I'd ever use
here.

But he ALWAYS ends up making it a flame fest, of meaningless dribble.

Disagree. Sadly, this group has sunk to the point where MX is now the
primary source of on-topic piloting topics.

I never would have thought it could come to that, but the trolls have
chased away a long list of truly outstanding regular posters. MX may
speak only of simulated piloting, but at least it's aviation.

There is just no way that I am going to actually conduct a rigorous
statistical analysis, but casual observation strongly suggests that MX also
remains the primary source and catalist for off-topic posts. There are
others, from time to time; but they lack his long term tenacity.

As mentioned earlier, I am not an advocate of moderated groups and just two
of my reasons are that I would not want the job and also that I am convinced
that a tired moderator could quickly become worse than non at all. But I
must admit that the much could be gained.

As always, YMMV
Peter
