I might use a nom de plume on the internet but I never bull**** on what I
do for
a living. Why bother?

Anybody who wants to know my real name needs only to email a question or
comment
to me. I use my real name exclusively in email.

So we're back to the basic question: why be so coy about your
profession?

Did you read the thread?

There's no presumed, implied, or even hinted profession, only
reasonable responses.

His implication is that one must be a "doctor" to make any statements
about the known or unknown effects of anti-depressants.

If that's the case I need a vet to tell me he's full of crap.

Nonsense, I simply asked if you were a doctor. You're the one throwing a
temper tantrum.

on medication OR not tell anyone so you can keep flying, yet still be
depressed.

This logic is flawed, because it assumes:
1) that the person has no options then to continue flying depressed,

What options do they have? If they admit depression either by taking
anti-depressants or by going to therapy their certificate is gone.

2) that antidepressants are mere "un-depressors" and therefore
relatively benign.

....

evere lack of interest in
consequences.

So "flying while depressed" or "hiding it" is illegal and stupid.

and the only way to make a living ...

Masking these symptoms with antidepressants is not the long term
answer for pilots or non-pilots. Psychiatrists expect these drugs to
be used to help people through the depression until they are able to
work through the causations rationally.

Just because "lots of people" are popping these pills and "are ok"
does not warrant a change to the cautious approach of the CFRs.

Well I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

All you manage to do when you stereotype this stuff is push it farther
underground and stop people from getting help.

Well it apparently matters to you, you're the one with his panties in a
