Default Essendon Airspace Procedures

Hi guys, can anyone tell me what is required to obtain a clearance from
Essendon Tower to do an orbit around the Melbourne CBD. I trained in
the bush for my recent PPL, but I fly mostly from Moorabbin. What do I
need to request and do I need to have submitted a flight plan.
Thanks
Paul

Paul, you should post your question on aus.aviation. No-one outside
Australia could possibly comprehend the peculiar Aussie requirement to
submit a flight plan just to enter Class C airspace for a VFR joy flight....
(And when I say submit a flight plan I don't mean just call up 1800 WX
BRIEF - I mean submit it in writing...)

Those in the DC area are learning though.
