ICOM A23 Transformer Specs

Would someone please give me the specs for the AC-DC transformer for
the ICOM A-23? I've misplaced mine and ICOM wants $40 for a
replacement. I can probably do better with a generic one from Radio
Shack. I need to know the polarity, DC voltage, and amps.

Output: 12VDC 200 mA

And these little 'wall warts' will work fine, I use a bunch here
on my many hand held ham trancseivers...just make sure that the
voltage is close and that the polarity is right (and the current
at or above specs)

I've always wondered why equipment manufacturers don't put a full wave
bridge (4 diodes) in the battery circuit so it doesn't matter how you
insert the batteries (or the polarity of a charger brick).

You also need the size - these things come in a million different
sizes. The Outside Diameter on mine is 3.5mm.

of board space. !

Voltage drop. Even low-voltage schottky diodes will drop 0.3-0.4V. That's
like throwing away 33% of your 1.2v battery capacity.
