Default Overhauling CDIs?

Anyone out there get their CDI overhauled or repaired? If so, would you care
to share your experience on cost and facility?

Looking at a KI-205 to replace my KI-201 driven by a KX-170B.

Thanks,

Marco

Wait, IS there such thing as a KI-205?? I've been looking around and it
looks like the guy on Ebay may have misrepresented a KI-208 as a "KI-205"

I don't have the answer, but my 170B drives a KI-208.

I've had a RMI and an HSI overhauled. I was happy with the results. The
HSI was done at Mid Continent Instruments and the RMI was done by Porter
Strait Instruments in Tulsa. Any instrument shop should be able to
overhaul/repair your unit. I have also had excellent with Duncan Aviation's
component repair services.

I seems to recall some goofy CDI that only went with a goofy
"transponder-looking" King NAV/COM... KX-145 was it? Anyway, I think that was a
KI-205.... never thought it could go with a KX-170.... you probably want a 203/208 for
non-GS or 204/209 with GS. The 203/204 are the nice rectilinear ones. The 206 won't
work unless you've got a converter to go with it.
