Default Typical metric stock for panel mounted instruments

Anybody know the size range of metric fasteners we typically use for
our panel mounted instruments ... for Dittle, Borgelt, etc ... I just
wanted to order some stock ... maybe 3 - 6 mm diameter ... 10 mm
long ... thanks.

For standard European instruments we use 4mm screws:

M4 x 12mm

The holes in the panel and instruments usualy have 4,3mm

4 x 20 is what the FSG-2T uses.

Correction: As Peter Stated - 4 x 12mm is standard.

I've found some few instruments, including, I seem to recall, the
Cambridge GPS-NAV display unit, use M3.5 threaded studs. I don't
remember the pitch, but I remember that finding screws of that size
was troublesome.

Generally M4x12 but some manufacturers who shall remain nameless to
avoid embarrassing the Americans use strange sizes.

If you can get them with a non-threaded shank then it needs to be chosen
to fit the panel thickness.

Cheers

M3.5 now seems to be the standard UK screw for electrical fittings (Wall
sockets, etc.), though possibly not all that useful for instrument
mounting, since they usually have countersunk slotted heads finished as
shiny metal.
