Default Lucas Oil Stabilizer?

Have any of you ever heard of "Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer"?

If so, can anyone think of a reason why it would NOT be a good idea to add a
quart to a Cont O-300 that seems to be using a lot of oil?

Just askin' . . . thanks . . .

I use it in my vehicles, tractors, trucks, planes, boats, etc... In the
plane I add a pint of either STP or Lucas with each oil change and another
pint at 25 hours. I have done this forever basically, beginning with STP a
long, long time ago...
The reason I would say it is not a good idea is that it is not going plug
the gaps in your worn piston rings, bearings, leaking seals, etc... Based on
what you wrote I suspect you need to invest in a top overhaul (at least),
not a can of thick oil... Clinging agents like Lucas/STP help keep an oil
film on the moving parts minimizing the wear from dry starts thus reducing
the need to overhaul for a longer period of operating hours... It will not
replace worn metal..

check this out www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm
read through the entire test. The forum has an interesting section on
aviation lubrication.
