Default 1-26A Ser 006 Tire and tube

Hi guys, I recently purchased a 126 a serial number 0 0 6 it has been stored for a very long time and probably has the original Tire still on it I am looking for a 4.00 / 4.80 -4 tire and tube. Ive tried the 126 News Group with no luck they won't approve my listing yet it's been a couple of weeks so I thought I would try here.

No longer available.
Replace with 4.00-4. Desser has it. Flatter "ribbed" profile works better for brake. You will have to rework the brake band due to slightly larger diameter.
Good luck

UH and I owning SGS-126 SN 002..... yes, normally use a 4.00 x 4.00 tire and tube....
Yes, "brake band" on tire OD may need some tweaking (due to different tire tread...).....not that a band brake worked well in the dry, forget about it on damp/wet grass....but you should be able to land slow...;-)
Trust me....BTDT.....

wings and wheels has a 4-400 (400-4?) Aero classic, I used one of these on an SHK.
It was okay and might work well on a 1-26, but it was not as high quality as a Tost 4-400, but the aero classic was 2/3 the tost tire, aero classic was not as 'round'.
good luck,
Scott

I understand from others that that one works fine.
I have a 4.00-4 with a flat profile(Aero Classic Rib) on 002 and our other 1-26's.
Part number is 06-00944 from AC Spruce. It has a flatter contact face that wears out more slowly with the band brake.
