Default Bose X

I have a 2 pairs of Lightspeed 20xl and I'm thinking of upgrading to the new
30 G3 or switching to a Bose X instead. Can anyone tell me if the Bose are
stereo and if so how they sound with music imputs on a Garmin 340. If I go
Bose I'll be mixing one Bose and one Lightspeed. Will this cause a problem?

Thanks

Steve

I have almost exactly this setup - Bose X, Garmin 340, and passengers use a
25XL. Works great. Music sounds fine. I assume it is stereo - never noticed.
I listen to more NPR than music anyway...

You can get them in either stereo or monaural.

They sound fine with music in my system, but I don't have a Garmin.

The only problem I've had is that I have to set the intercom volume higher
to hear myself than I do when I use other headsets. Other than that, they
work well with Sigtronics and Peltor headsets.

I wouldn't worry about it. Bose has a 30-day trial period. If it doesn't
work out, send them back.

I have a Bose X operating with a PS Engineering PM-3000, and the sound is
great. As I just posted in rec.aviation.piloting, my experience with Bose
service is also excellent. Even though mine are four years old and were
purchased second-hand with my plane, Bose recently repaired them free of
charge, and also replaced the headband padding, the cable and both ear-pads
into the bargain. That, and they turned them around in a week, and offered
me a loaner if that was going to be too slow! $1000 is a lot of money, but
it's worth it. The $600 I paid was worth it (almost) twice over!

Send them a very nicely worded short note saying just that. (Letter, not
e-mail)

Tell them you can understand the "upcharge" if the unit was three years old,
but you are inside 90 days (whatever) and would appreciate them "fixing" the
unit.

Grovel, grovel ...thank you. etc.

Keep your eye on the prize --- $190.00 staying in your pocket. You'll
probably have to ship them out on your nickel - maybe.

Oh, it might take a second, very nice note, to get past the first "no"
person.

You can do this!! Good luck.

What is everyones feeling about Bose charging 190.00 for the upgrade power
pack. They are replacing a poorly designed flaw. I have had mine for 3
months and feel this item should be taken care of for no charge... period,
especially after spending a grand on the things.
