Yes.....In the US Navy, we flew patrols with either #1 feathered,
or at lighter weights, both #1 and #4 feathered. Doing this
extended the patrol duration by 1-2 hours. As I recall, we were
restricted to a minimum altitude of 100' with one feathered and
500' with two shutdown.

That is the reason there are no hydraulic pumps or generators on #1.

Ah...Yes, Jim. I have saved our previous discussion about our
Utapoa adventures. And It greaves me greatly that now, 40 years
later, I cannot remember the names of those fine young men that
made-up Combat Air Crew Ten in VP-46. My conflicts with the CO,
CDR Al Balsch, made those not the most enjoyable days of my life.
