Default Handheld scanner models

Hi all.

I'm getting confused about handheld scanners (some have dual trunking
feature with 1000 channels). I currently have a Radio Shack Pro-82 that
holds 200 channels in 10 banks of 20. Works OK, but I'd like something a
little clearer.

What models of UNIDEN/Bearcat, Radio Shack or other brands should I look at?
I'd also consider a used aviation transceiver in the $ 100.00 price range if
anyone has such a creature in good shape.

Thanks all.

Marty from Sunny South Florida
