Default Junior Glider Headrest

Our club's Junior has a headrest that is built into the seatpan that is
incredibly uncomfortable (at the maximum up position it hits me right
about at the shoulder blades, and pushes me forward, even with a thick
pillow on the seat back).

Are all Juniors like this? Is there a mod to the seat that fixes this?

Our club's pair have no headrest at all or any means of fitting one. The
seat pans end at the lip of an open topped storage area thats behind them
and intended for canopy covers, etc. though I've never used it or seen it
used. This lip is at the same height as the battery shelf or slightly
lower. Its well below the metal tube across the front of the battery
shelf.

The headrest was designed for a person wearing a parachute. When I am
not wearing a chute I have a two inch thick energy absorbing foam
cushion, made up of three layers of different density foam, that I use
behind my back when I fly the junior. Works well and is very
comfortable. Cumulus Soaring has the foam.

I seem to recall wording in the pilot's manual along the lines of "if no parachute use cushion of the 10cm thick"

Cheers, Ben

You would need a 12" thick cushion to overcome the headrest.

Speaking about foam, this place was the source of a much marked up
supply from "spruce" same stuff just a lot cheaper...
