Flights to the very tip top of Oregon

It was a very easy glide back, Mt. Hood is only about 20 miles south. http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0....html?dsId=254.... As far as my tow position, I was trying to nudge her a little closer to the mountain. *I always stay a little to the left when I want to go straight. Ahh.. Steering the tow plane... Not many glider pilots know how that works... And a lot less tow pilots would follow the directions and simply mash the right rudder harder and curse the glider pilot. Not many schools even teach it. I thought maybe you were on that side for the camera angle. T |

Well some of that too, and some sloppy flying because of filming. At that altitude, there really wasn't much pull on the rope left either. Judy, our tow pilot is THE BEST at steering turns! You can steer her 5 degrees at a time if you want. You never need to say a word to her if you don't want to. She must have 5000 tows or more. She's in her 70s but still the best.
