You made a lot of assumptions, sure that you don't have a hidden agenda?
Yes, I made a couple assumptions. Nope- no hidden anything.

I just don't understand why a couple folks here are raggin on this guy's
attempt to sell his aircraft. That is quite unfair!

If his "opening bid" is high, then I guess it won't sell. So what. But don't
try to relabel it as a "reserve" (that word has a quite different meaning)-
only Ebay has the authority to call it whatever they want.

This thread has got to be the dumbest thing to spar over in the

history
of
this NG.

Entertaining though,

"The other poster"!

Yup. That is what's disturbs me. A few dumb/mean people have
made the aviation newsgroups inhospitable. Someone like the OP
saunters in and posts something *perfectly* reasonable, correct
and on-topic, and someone else has to make an ass of himself
tearing down the post.

Don't you think that you might be over reacting just a little bit.
This is a newsgroup and people will have different opinions on

acceptable
advertising.

It seems real dumb to me to set an "opening bid" at $63,000 and then

state
that there is no reserve.

You apparently disagree, so be it!

You may think it's a "play on words", but it's all correct. $63k is the
lowest he will take and he is displaying that right up front- what's

your
problem?

Lemme see he Opening bid=$63,000, No reserve. Yep that's correct,

just
like Ebay labels them. Of course you can start your own auction site and
then you can play little word games your self. If the "opening bid" is
higher than the "price police" think it should be then call it a "rip

off
start" or other such label you happen to pull outa yer ass.

Agreed. There's always somebody that feels the need to express an

opinion
which seems to be drug induced. It's hard to believe they actually think
that way.

The guys just trying to sell his aircraft- a beautiful one at that.

Maybe
these snide remarks are from none other than jealousy. I guess it's

rough
to
admit to yourself that you'll never sit in the pilot seat of such a

classic
bird, let alone *actually* own one!!

Oh well, Here come the flames. Bring them on!

You made a lot of assumptions, sure that you don't have a hidden agenda?

Come on now, how much is this guy paying you to say those things?

No Reserve, this will go to the highest bidder.

What a neat plane those Stearman are! So many planes and so little time. :-)

$63,000 seems like a steal for a Stearman, but what do I know.

Nice that there's no reserve too.

What's it cost to maintain a Stearman? Insurance and all that jazz.

Oooohhh...so this was about "acceptable advertising"?

It seems real dumb to me to set an "opening bid" at $63,000 and then state

He probably said it because it was true.

You apparently disagree, so be it!

These are well-defined words in the eBay community. It's not simply
my opinion.

Your derision of the poster for using the correct terminology to
describe his auction was completely inappropriate.
