Default ASA IP v6.5

Hello,
I am thinking about buying ASIA'S Instrument Pilot Training program ver.
6.5.
Has anyone used it and have any opinions on if it is worth buying?
I would appreciate any help in deciding on buying it.
Thank You
Charley

I don't know. Mine doesn't work. It's a bit tempermental evidentally
about the
system configturation. Even when it does work, it's got a rather braindead
user
interface (you have to scroll through text with these stupid up down buttons
rather
than something approximating a standard scroll bar, for example).

I'm using OnTop IFR Proficiency Simulator. I thought about the 6.5 IP
Trainer, but didn't want another method or approach to interfere with the
teaching method/approach of my instructor. SO,,, I learn something from my
instructor and then pull up OnTop IFR to practice what we did that day.
Helped me LOTS on comprehending holding pattern entries and approaches.

Just my two cents.....

I used it quite a bit during my training. The best part about it was the
demonstration mode for each lesson. In my opinion, the "test" mode was too
strict. For example, in many lessons, if you straighten the yoke for a split
second, it would fail the lesson forcing you to start over when the
deviation was actually minor and within reason. Other times, if you were 1
second late (no exaggeration) change the frequency, it would fail you again.
The constant annoyances prevented me from completing all of the lessons.

Conclusion: in my opinion, it DID help enough to shorten my instrument
training to justify it's cost. It also allowed me to get familiar with
certain concepts before lessons and helped in the review afterwards. I
believe I would buy it again given the same situation and knowing its
idiosyncrasies.

Hope this helps.

Marco
