Default Lancair Engine

I am looking to buy Lancair 360. They seem to come with two different
engines, the A1A at 200hp and the B1B at 180hp. Is the only
difference
seems to be the compression ratio, can you upgrade to the 200hp
easily, and
can I expect a difference in performance (rate of climb/speed/useful
load)?

I think you'll find that the only 200 hp Lycoming 360 is the fuel injected
IO series.

The O-360 A1A is 180 hp and the B1B has slightly less due to the lower
compression.

i think you are referring to the narrow deck and the wide deck O360
engines. the fuel injection can be had on either, such as the 180 hp
piper arrow or the 200 hp arrow.
