Australian soldiers from 3 RAR board an RAF Beverley in Borneo
But a wooden boat called the America beat the best the Brits could put in
the water which prompted the quote, "Your majesty, there is no second place". And I have not seen or heard of anything British even being put on the moon. Have a Happy New Year! Joe wrote in message ink.net... You are correct. The Yanks are not in the wooden boat league. "Ricardo" wrote in message o.uk... The Brits conquered the world in boats made of wood, powered by wind & navigated by the stars. For the yanks to be in the same league they'll need to have sent Neill Armstrong to the Moon.........on a Hang-glider!! |

Me thinks my comment went right over your head! :-)
It was a "wooden American boat" that beat the Brits and then held the America's Cup for well over a century! When we did finally lose it , it wasn't to a British boat. And as I said before, I don't recall hearing about any British accomplishments as for as the moon is concerned........Yanks in the same league, God, I certainly hope not. We'd be considered failures! Have a happy New Year, Ricardo! "Ricardo" wrote in message o.uk...
