Related subject, I just got my LX5000 back from LX Nav in time to use it for
Day 4 of the Region 9 at Hobbs. They didn't charge me a thing for the repair
or the software upgrade, and they "repaired" it by replacing it with a brand
new unit (though it has the same serial number). Outstanding service all
around!

So if your unit is broken (as my LX-5000 is), you have the choice of
sending it to LX or to Filser? For some reason, I thought you had to
send it to Filser.

Filser is a German distributor for LX and they do not provide the support
(unless maybe you purchased it directly from them). Deal directly with LX
Nav. They fixed and upgraded my LX5000 and had it on the way back in less
than 3 days.
