From a Canadian point of view I would mention The CF-105 AVRO Arrow.
This will not be forgotten along with the fools that ordered the program
terminated and the existing aircraft being cut-up and destroyed.
Also worthy of mention is the CF-100 Canuck, first non swept winged
aircraft to break the sound barrier in a dive and the only Canadian designed
jet fighter to go into production.

Concorde.

OK, it's not a military jet but it is likely to be the only passenger
supersonic airliner ever to be put in service, certainly in our lifetimes
anyway.
