Default Good Good America

The below link is to the music video "Good Good America" by Cpl, John Preston
and L.Cpl. Nick Hoffmann, 2nd Batt., 7th Marines, somewhere in western Iraq.
The duo created the video because they were frustrated with the news media's
narrow focus on US casualties to the exclusion of the broader picture. Another
example of how modern technology allows the ordinary person to by-pass the
powers-that-be to get their own views out directly to other people worldwide.

El cheapo propaganda. Bah!

What interests me the most is that, with today's technology, a kid in a combat
zone can put his own views out to the world directly, doesn't have to hope for
Ernie Pyle or Joe Galloway to show up and interview him.

There is no hope for him to have a correspondent get his positive view
aired. God bless the internet!

Yep. As Cpl. Preston says, the only time the media reports on the marines (or
other armed forces) is when they get killed or do something wrong. "Let us be
heard!" he demands, and, thanks to the internet, he can be. Whether you like
or agree with what he has to say or not, it is authentic, the voice of the
"boots on the ground." Being able to hear that voice directly is something new
under the sun.
