What happens here in this shot - the plane looks twisted but still flies.

I can't figure out what made the picture turn out this way....

It is an effect which occurs with telephoto lenses. I will attach a photo
I took of picnic table when testing a new 300 mm lens. I believe there are
some photo editing programs, such as Photoshop Elements 4.0 which will
remove this effect.
