The one Q I have is in the attached manipulated picture.

I realize that you were pressed for time and may not
have had time to investigate, and in a 2 dimensional
view, it is hard for me to determine what starts/stops
where. If all the parts in the pic belong to that bird,
it is one weird little duck.

That thing looks like it has britches on its rear, like
the shuttle when being ferried.

I think it is the Scaled Composites Long EZ. I have a shot of it in the next
batch. The aircraft is tiny.

According to the U.S. Air Force Museum website, it is a Rutan Long EZ,
though it appears highly modified compared to other pix I found of the
type elsewhere on the 'Net. See link, first row, second pic:

Thanks for the info/link. Too weird! Didn't realize
that Rutan's path had crossed the PDE. That also
'splains the queer design. Initially thought it looked
like a LongEZ, but the propulsion system threw me.
