In the mid 90's you couldn't go to an airport there without seeing the heroin addicts sleeping there. In fact, at the time the US invaded Kosovo, 80% of the drug dealers in Russian prisons were Albanians selling Afghan heroin. It is the interest of the US to prevent al Qaeda from distributing heroin, thereby cutting their funding. The Russians and the BBC can bugger off.
