Default Yield signs in the pattern

Just an idea. Landed at Longmont 2V2 today and some jerk transitioned the
pattern 100 feet above pattern altitude. Came up on my six o'clock - never
saw him until he was filling my windshield.

Just one more reminder to keep the head on a swivel...

Is Vern Banta still flying out there? He had a Luscombe 8F I got my
tailwheel training in, and later boiught a 170B. He was chief
instructor for both Longmont and Boulder (maybe his wife was Cheif,
but he instructed there).

He was a good guy, and I was thinking about him recently while tooling
around in a Cub.

Thanks,
z

So, how do you know he was a jerk-- did you actually meet him somewhere to
determine that?

No, I'll just assume that any pilot that transitions through a pattern at an
uncontrolled airport at pattern altitude has some amount of jerk in him
waiting to get assigned...
