I couldn't find a preliminary NTSB report on this. Anybody know anything
more?

and this......

MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, Wash. - A pilot was killed Saturday when
a home-built airplane crashed near the park's Buck Creek campgrounds
area in Pierce County.

Pierce County Sheriff's Sgt. Ed Troyer identified the pilot only as a
58-year-old King County resident.

The fixed wing, single-engine aircraft went down around 3:45 p.m., about
31/2 miles north of the park boundary and one mile east of Highway 410,
a park dispatcher said Saturday evening.

Officials with Greenwater Fire and Rescue and Pierce County Sheriff's
Search and Rescue recovered the body, Troyer said.

An investigator with the Federal Aviation Administration was on scene
and Pierce County Sheriff's Office was investigating.

An FAA spokeswoman said the experimental plane was an Avid Magnum with
tail number N2054F. It was registered to an address in SeaTac, Wash.

No further details were immediately available.

This happened Saturday afternoon, and the NTSB/FAA accident pages are only
updated on business days.

The news report I saw last night didn't identify the pilot, but said the
plane was registered to a Seatac man. I checked the database, and there is
only one homebuilt registered in Seatac...an Avid Magnum.
