According to another network, "The plane departed from the Salem Airport
around 10 a.m. Friday en route to Klamath Falls by way of Eugene. The last
known radar contact was at 10:17 a.m. at about 13,000 feet. The plane was
reportedly en route to Klamath Falls, then it was to continue on to Salt
Lake City where it was scheduled to arrive at 3:20 p.m."


Albany is only about 15 miles from Salem. So according to the numbers, he
climbed out at ~1000fpm give or take, which would have been easy. Seems
like he'd have gotten a little further downrange, though.

Interesting. That's cake for a good instrument pilot. Wonder it there
was ice though. It would be interesting to see the freezing level.

It looks more like a spin. The aircraft hit with little or no
forward motion.
A witness reported the aircraft in a spin prior to impact.
