Default CNv 3.1 available

A software update for CNv vario is available. This is a significant upgrade recommended for all CNv users. Please see release notes for details.

Also please use the latest PC configuration utility 2.7, both available he

http://www.clearnav.net/main/cn-downloads.html

I flew this release last Sunday for a few hours.

I noticed: improved automatic cruise / climb switching, spoiler open warning on takeoff can now be acknowledged and cancelled, better audio, smoother STF indications. Wasn't able to test the new gust filter (no gusts to speak of).

More good stuff in the works too!

Because this release is stable in the sense that it "does not crash, or hang or misbehave", I interpret your statement to mean "I'd like development to stop".

Mostly I take heat for the inverse complaint....

There is absolutely no requirement to update. The 3.0beta released a couple of months ago remains solid as ever. If you fly 30 hours a year, you might not even notice the differences except for the extra "gust filter" adjustment.

If you fly your glider enough to "wear it", the differences from 3.0 to 3.1 are the difference between off the shelf and a hand tailored suit.

Tip: Set the pointer and audio time constants to 0.5 seconds or less (even 0.1s works fine). The TCs control conventional low pass filters on the TE signal which simply aren't needed anymore, unless for some reason you want a slow response.

best,
Evan Ludeman for CNi
