I think the camouflage pattern looks like that of an Egyptian
aircraft (and Egypt is a likely source of the exhibit).

'manos,
We went down to Dayton last Friday and took a few pictures. There is
a MiG-19 "Farmer" there in markings that I do not recognize. Can any of
the 'experts" that subscribe to this newsgroup help me? It amounts to a
yellow star - no surround - and red bars on both sides..

Here is a listing of the nations that had the aircraft, and the national
markings. North Vietnam comes the closest, but not exact.

That isn't commanitz Viet insignia.

Shame on them zoomies...

From the URL listed above from Billzz, which I couldn't get to open;
"Unit: unknown
Serial: **0138**
**USAF Museum** "

Pan Netko,
More than likely the US Air Farce Museum got the MiG-19 from the
'Gippos' and didn't finish the markings for either the commanitz Chinese or
the Viets.
I picked up the Osprey #25 "MiG-17 and MiG-19 Units of the VietNam War"
and scanned the pictures of the "Farmers".. ENJOY!!!
I got a 'million' pictures from the two Smithsonian Air & Space Museums,
the new US Marine Corps Museum and the USAF Museum, but I've gotta' take the
time to reduce them and probably won't get the time until this fall, 'cuz
it's too hot here and I've gotta' stay in the swimming pool! ((-;
