Stuck piano hinge pin
My old project plane has working flap but it appears pin for hinge is
corroded and stuck. Flap needs to be removed for access to rear main gear bracket. I can't get a grip on holding the pin and pulling or twisting. Being cheap , would rather not cut the pin into small removable pieces as a long replacement pin or piano hinge ships at a higher rate. Suggestion would be appreciated, thanks. Dick |

Can you cut ONE loop off an end and get a grasp on the pin that way?
Or, can you, using a small punch drive the pin out the other way? John Dick wrote: My old project plane has working flap but it appears pin for hinge is corroded and stuck. Don L. n FTW In the Air Force we had some rather long hinges. To get the pins in or out we'd chuck the end into a drill and spin it as it was removed or installed. A properly aligned hinge takes only a few seconds to pin. Dan, U.S. Air Force, retired |

Try some Mouse Milk to help loosen it up.
