Default Cambridge 302 - switch from Netto in cruise to TE in climb?

I have a CAI 302 vario and currently run it in Super Netto mode. However I would like to have it run as a Netto vario in cruise, and a normal TE vario in climb.

The manual says that a cruise/climb switch may be connected between Pin 9 and Pin 10 however I don't know if that will switch to TE in climb, or stay as Netto? Obviously I need to use the CAI utility to set the vario to Netto as a first step.

you can also configure the 302 that it will switch from climb to cruise at a certain speed. No external switch required in this case.

The 302 will always be in TE for climb, the cruise mode is what you can configure. You can use a switch to manually (or flaps) go between modes or set a speed values for it to automatically change.

Thanks guys. The manual says the 302 switches from cruise mode to climb mode 7 seconds after a turn is initiated based on GPS track rather than airspeed . However as long as it is always a TE vario when in climb mode that should work fine for me. I will set it to Netto for cruise and try it.
