Then we had 18 of us (the Pup 100s pulled out, not enough power) do a
formation flypast.

Stream, 5 seconds between leader, 2 and 3 in each vic formation,
25 seconds between leaders (so 15 seconds from no.3 of one vic to
the leader of the next). Pretty much all at once!

Do you have any pix of the formation from the ground?

Here at Spruce Creek, we sometimes do a 20-30 ship flyover, divided into
flights of 3 to 5, with the flights in trail. Unfortunately, I have
participated in too many memorial flights this year (not due to
formation flight, however). It can be a real hassle when the ground
program drags on and on, causing the flights to circle and circle,
awaiting their flyover cue.

I was ok at that point...just felt a bit nervous before starting to taxi
out. By that time all the training had kicked in and I was concentrating
on what was going on. Was still a fantastic sight to see...everyone on
the ground said it was good too, but I haven't seen any photos as of yet.

Not yet. Hopefully will see some soon. Have to see...I'm sure there'll
be various photos on various websites over time.

Paul, I would love to have seen that. I started my flight training in
a pup 100 here in Ireland, the Wexford Aero Club (now defunct) had
one for many years, it's now in the hands of one of the former
members. He did a full rebuild about 6 or 7 years ago, gave himself a
fright and she's been laid up since; you can imagine the state of the
engine after all that time.

She's had a full paint job, new radio and some instruments, a
transponder, new prop and rebuilt engine with only 160 or so hours.
I'm hoping that I and my partner in the Rallye will be able to get
our hands on her if we can get her registered as a classic, we would
be able to afford to run it then; so wish us luck.

Aw. A Pup is too good to let one just sit there.

Good luck!
