Default Retired African Pilots

Hi
Does anyone know of any books or articles about pilots who flew around
Africa in the 1960s or 1970s?
Regards
George

Here is a reply I got from a fried of mine now in Austraila. He spent
a number of years in the flyihg game in Africa.

Look at the link he shows.

Suggest you try;-
http://www.google.com.au/search?sour...q=jack+malloch
Or alternatively just type Jack Malloch in the google search box.
Malloch and I worked for the same Airline (Hunting Clan) for a while.
He was a Spitfire pilot during the war, shot down and spent time with
Italian partisans before escaping back to U.K. Subsequently had a
chequered career gun running for Moishe Tshombe in Katanga, spent time
in an African jail, then went sanction busting for Ian Smith by
setting up his own airline. Died a number of years ago while doing a
victory roll over Salisbury (Harare) in his own privately owned
Spitfire. Sabotage of his aircraft suspected but never proved . Quite
a character.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Tony

No, but I can give you the email address of an old friend of mine who flew
there at that time. Email me at
quilljar at btinternet dot com if you are interested.

For four good books to read look at...
http://www.quilljar.btinternet.co.uk/covers.htm
Buy three or four altogether and get economy postage.
