1125KM Minden to Steamboat Spgs, CO IGC file available
The April 15 downwind wave flight (IGC file) from Minden, NV to
Steamboat Springs, CO can be viewed by visiting: www.gliderforum.com under flights. This flight was completed utilizing wave until western UT and thermals for the remainder of the flight. The flight was conducted under an IFR flight plan through LOA's with the applicable ATC agencies. Kudos to all controllers involved. This flight could not have been done without the expertise and superb support from the best soaring meteorologist out there, Doug Armstrong. Thanks also to Henry Combs for his knowledge and support. There will be a future writeup in Soaring magazine. Thanks, Gordo |

There was a transponder, radio, flight computer and electric varios on all the time. That's not possible, the batteries wouldn't last that long - right? Bill Daniels |
