Frank,
Thanks for the link to a very interesting interview. 25 years later we
have made some progress towards MacCready's vision, but really very
little considering the advancements in high tech during that same
period.

Randy, you're saying that if automobiles had advanced at the same rate as
computers we'd be getting 1000 miles per gallon? But then they would have
Microsoft operating systems and you'd have to click on START to shut it off.

I'm seeing some renewed interest in pure electric propulsion. A123 systems
safe, fast charge lithium batteries and Mitusbishi's wheel motors actually
look practical. If a vehicle could run 150 - 200 miles on a charge and then
be re-charged in five minutes, would that be attractive?
