Fatal at Omarama
Sad news. A glider crashed in the Omarama saddle area
and the pilot was killed. http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3154669a11,00.html No witnesses, although the nearby contest was tasked through the area. A contest pilot found the wreckage and called a mayday. That's the second mayday I've heard, and I hope I never hear another. From the little that is known, speculation is that he spun in. Be careful. -- Philip Plane _____ philip @ xinqu.net | ---------------( )--------------- Glider pilots have no visible means of support |
