Three years ago I did get a brand new steel D from Eastern. The composite cylinder is too small for western flying. luxfer 'd' composite, 15 year life, under $300, available, 15.4 cubic ft. 1.2 cubic ft smaller than a steel 'd', so it is about 7% smaller, weighs 5 lbs full and it will physically fit. These numbers are for the luxfer M15A5. I'm sure there are even smaller composite cylinders out there. but why?
