Looks like they're going for it. After the F-22 program ended and they
weren't allowed to buy them I guess that was the play they had to go
with. I wish them luck with it.

It looks like a beautiful aircraft.

At any rate that's some good news for Japan's aero industry too. Good
luck to 'em!

I'm wondering on this, because now JMSDF is starting the works around
"things" no.3 and no.4 aka 22DDH and 24DDH (I guess that will be named
Yamashiro and Fuso)....

Best regards from Italy,
Dott. Piergiorgio.

cockpit...

it is not tiny at all. the explanation you are looking for is: "a
picture shot with a wide-angle lens at close distance". for the very
same reason the nose of a dog on a close-up shot with a wide-angle lens
looks bigger that it is in real life

the front portion of the design is obviously "inspired" by su-34 design
(if not flat-out copied from it).

i wonder what they are going to use as a source of the engines.
remember, it took two mig-21s to make a single sr-71 and japanese
definitely wouldn't want to deal with this kind of supply difficulties

Here's the article on the aircraft, which unlike a fighter, has no
cargo capacity for carrying weapons.

D = demonstrator

I would suggest that lack of weapons is a temporary condition, more
for the Japanese public than anyone else.
