What an insanely stupid thing to do!

They can't use them without attracting attention. They won't be easy to sell either.

One assumes they were well insured.

I am thinking that they will sell the engine from the turbo, and maybe
chop off the cockpits for use on simulators or on some sort of motor
vehicles (like a motorized trike), etc. The wings and tail feathers might

show up for sale being sold as parts.

There was another recent theft as well. Was it in England? As I recall,
the engines were all removed.

I believe it has happened in the U.S. The details are very hazy but I believe my father sold a Libelle 201 to someone in the New England area, from whom it was subsequently stolen in the trailer. About 40 years ago? Anyone recall the details or outcome?

There was a Libelle 201 stolen from Tanner-Hiller airport in Massachusetts in mid winter about 30 years ago. It was uninsured and never recovered.

There was also an EB-28 that had it's engine compartment sawed off and stolen in the UK a few years back.

Sadly enough, soaring clubs in Europe are hit with break-ins, vandalism and theft often enough that the there is a 'Theft-List' on the German server Segelflug.de. It lists items stolen after breaking into hangars and working undetected sometimes for days. Not only are instruments taken but entire engines were removed from planes and hauled away.
My old club installed motion lights and cameras after their club house was ransacked.
I wish the Danes good luck in recovering their equipment.
