Default Interesting Scoring change in another racing sport

NASCAR is expected tomorrow to announce bonus points for anyone running in the top 10 during a pre-decided race segment. Each race will be split up into at least three segments with bonus points awarded for anyone running in the top 10 at the end of each segment.

NO more laying back at the back of the pack and then making your move at the end of the race.

In gliding I guess this kind of change would reduce the duration of the prestart gaggle but also could easily jam the start line grand prix style as soon as it opened. I don't believe it would change the propensity to gaggle up on weak blue days. Those are just the days when you want to have company..

Nice one, Linwood.

This type of thing has been done in bicycle racing for a century.
