It's a 1-26, actually.

A 2-33 (with its high wing) would have probably missed the mailboxes!

Glad the pilot is OK, and a shame to lose another 1-26...

Was the video playing at higher than actual speed? The approach looked
way fast for a 1-26.

Default Off Field Landing in 2-33 on video

I was emailed by Larry that he had a crew from Good Morning America at his house. Might be shown beginning of next week. Let's hope that this somehow will cast our sport in a positive light...I don't know how it could. Wish GMA featured the beauty and challenge of soaring and not a crash. Fingers crossed that Larry pulls off a hat trick and can portray our sport in a good way.

PS: This video was used at our soaring seminar earlier this year during a talk by A8 about land outs and having a plan.
