Looks like bits and pieces of an F-5E, early F-16, with a dash of MiG 29 tail
tossed in. I give it a 3.7. on the "How many seconds would it last against an F-15" scale. v/r Gordon PS, it also has the RCS of a Junkers Ju 52. Stealthy. Not. |

And the difference between them (starting their own aerospace industry) and any UK/EU/US project (in well established aerospace industries) is...? Friend, just what makes you think they are *starting* an aerospace industry? These guys have been building jet fighters for decades. Not just building and modifying other peoples designs but actually planning, building and flying their own? And how long have they been doing that for? By comparison, I reckon China is a newcomer. As for their delays/timing, they're moving at roughly the same pace as the rest of us. Nick |

Was that simply for the tech or did they fully intend to make a copy for mass production. Pat |

Significant interest/pressure from the pakistanis, a development partner, for one. The other factor apparently being that they see a market for a Mig-21 replacement around the world (though why anyone would want this turkey for that role is beyond me--replacing sixties technology in 2010 with seventies technology seems a bit of a waste...). Give Burt Rutan a few billion and see what he could come up with and he's NEVER built a fighter. |
